FREE PATTERN: Baby Oversized Sweater Size 56 - 68 / 0 - 4 months

This sweater is a wardrobe staple for boys and girls. When you purchase the pattern in the shop, there is also an optional peplum, sweet bishop sleeves, and different necklines. That makes this pattern extremely variable!

The European sizes are based on the child’s height measured in centimeters. In the ebooks, the sizes are indicated in both ways, centimeters, and inches of course. Also, the fabric requirement is listed in centimeters and yards. The European size of 56 - 68 corresponds to the UK or US size of 0 - 4 months.

Cute Baby Sweater

By the way, if you print it on 70 % it is also a cute sweater for baby dolls!

THE INSTRUCTIONS

Everything is explained here step by step and in the end you have a great little baby oversized jumper!

Step 1: Lay front and back right sides together and matching shoulders. Sew the shoulder seams.

Step 2: Pin sleeve to the armscye right sides together matching raw edges. First, pin the center of the sleeve cap to the shoulder seam. Then pin the ends of the sleeve cap to the ends of the arm scye. Add more pins in between, if necessary.

Step 3: Sew and repeat for the second sleeve.

Step 4: Lay the sweatshirt and sleeves right sides together matching side and underarm seams. Sew. Begin to sew at the sleeve hem and sew all the way down to the sweatshirt hem.

Step 5: Fold the cuffs in half with right sides together matching long edges. Stitch. Fold the neckband in half matching short edges. Stitch.

Step 6: Fold the cuffs in half with wrong sides together. Slide the cuff into the sleeve so the cuff and sleeve are right sides together and all raw edges aligned. Make sure to match the side seams. Pin.

Step 7: Fold the neckband in half with wrong sides together. Mark the center front of the neckband.

Step 8: You will have to stretch the neckband while sewing so that it lies flat on the sweatshirt fabric. Do NOT stretch the sweatshirt fabric. Sew with the ribbing on top for handling ease. Press.

Step 9: The hem band consists of two pieces. Lay these with right sides together and sew along the short edges. This will create a loop. Fold the final hem band in half with wrong sides together.

Step 10: Slide the hem band into the bottom opening of the sweatshirt - with right sides together. Make sure you align the side seams perfectly.

I also really like the thick ribbed cuffs for the jumper! However, they are so stretchy that you should always recalculate the length of the cuffs and make them a few centimetres shorter.

That is what you have made out of it!
